A crown is a cap used to restore a tooth to its original appearance and prevent further damage or decay. A bridge differs in that it uses existing teeth to fill in an area left vacant by a missing tooth.
Crowns
Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too broken down to be restored with a filling. Crowns are commonly used following root canal treatment, or after a large filling wears out. Crowns are a preferred solution for damaged teeth due to the strength and protection they provide, as well as the aesthetically appealing look they offer.

Bridges
A bridge is an option for filling the space created by a missing tooth. It is formed to look like the missing tooth, and replaces it in the mouth. The sides of a bridge use the two surrounding teeth for support, this giving it its "bridge" name. A bridge maybe made of porcelain bonded to metal alloy or all ceramic material. The choice of material depends on requirements for strength, wear, and/or aesthetics.
